Tigers in 4!

Wow! I can't believe it! The Tigers beat the Yankees today to win the series three games to one and move on to meet the A's in the ALCS. So either the A's or the Tigers will be in the World Series. So exciting!

I didn't think the Tigers could actually subdue the bats of that New York line-up but they did. The pitching was awesome. Bonderman was amazing today and I was so happy that Leyland took him out in the 9th so he could feel the love from the Detroit crowd. And it was so great they could win at home and so decisively. That stadium was rockin' today. I loved how the team went out on the field and sprayed the crowd with bubbly. Especially Kenny Rogers. So funny.

My favorite sign:

Spiderman
Superman
Bonderman

So Oakland vs. Detroit, beginning Tuesday, best of seven. That'll be hard to predict. I'm gonna have to go with the A's in six.

  1. I was going to say the Tigers in 5 or 6 but since they won the first 2 in Oakland I am thinking they may sweep. If Kenny can carry over what the emotion he displayed against the Yankees the Tig's should be up 3-0 with Bonderman pitching the elimination game on Saturday. I hated to see Jeff Weaver lose that one last night. I didn't get to see much of the game (and none til he was already out of the game) but it sounded like he pitched well enough to win and just made that one mistake. With no run support it is really hard to get a win...

  2. Yeah, Weaves was doing so great. I thought he was pitching as good as he did in the NLDS (and he got a hit!). It was just his usual vulnerability to the long ball that did him in yet again. It was the ineffectiveness of the Cards' bats against Glavine's superior pitching that was their downfall last night.

  3. Get ready for Weaver vs. Glavine, round 2.
