Get Your Brooms Ready in Detroit
Sure looks like the Tigers' year, doesn't it? I can hardly believe it. Rogers was awesome, giving up only two hits and walking two. And the bullpen was perfect, setting down their batters in order. We'll see if Detroit can close it out tomorrow.
As far as the A's, I thought Harden did great today considering his lack of work recently and really through the season with his injuries. The A's sure miss having Bobby Crosby and Mark Ellis up the middle on defense and their bats in the line-up. I wonder if Macha is going to start Mark Kiger at second base tomorrow. Here's a guy who made his major league debut today in the 8th inning on defense and could possibly start in an ALCS Game 4 with his team's survival on the line. Talk about pressure.
It is really unfortunate that the A's lost their double play combo for the post season. It probably would have been a more closely contested series had they been in the lineup, oh yeah, and if Frank Thomas hadn't gone 0 for the series.
ReplyDeleteI think it would've made a big difference to have those guys. And who knows what was up with Thomas. Bradley was the only guy making any noise with the bat. I'm giving all the props to the Detroit pitching.
ReplyDeleteI felt really bad for Frank Thomas. I was rooting for him all year and to see him have such a poor post season was sad. I've not been a big Milton Bradley fan, too much attitude. Very T.O.
