SepteRemember: John #4

My dad's sister's daughter got married in the summer of 1972 and requested that John and I be her ring bearer and flower girl. I'm sure we were very excited and not that well-behaved but someone else will have to report on that as I don't have really any memory of it myself.

The traditional family story of this event that everyone loves to tell is that John fell asleep during the reception in the nave of the church under some coats. I'm sure he was just worn out from all that ring bearing.

  1. Those rings can be very heavy, just ask Frodo. I remember a picture of me in that cubby but I don't think I have a copy of it anywhere, it may not have survived the fire.

  2. Ha ha. I was going to make a Frodo comment as well but then I forgot. I'm sure it's hard work.

Do you have your baby book? That's where this photo came from? Maybe the one you're thinkng of is in yours.

  3. Was it at Linda's wedding where John fell asleep?

I know he went to sleep on the floor at Gloria's wedding in 1976. Most of the family came home with a fever after that trip.

  4. I probably slept through both. I was thinking of Gloria's wedding that we have the picture of somewhere. I think I know where my baby book is but I don't know what is in there.
