Game 7
Wow, what a Game 7. Tied 1-1 until the top of the 9th when Molina hit one out. The Mets kept hitless from the 2nd through the 8th but had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th. Game over on a called strike three from a rookie closer. Man, that is awesome. Gotta love the curve.
So the Cardinals face off with the Tigers in the World Series beginning Saturday in Detroit. I'm going to root for the Tigers except for any games (former Tiger) Jeff Weaver might pitch (of course). I always hope for a long series just to hang on to baseball a little longer. Hockey can wait.
I got back from playing basketball in time to see the bottom of the eighth and the ninth. Wow! I almost called you. I listened to second half of the bottom of the first and the top of the second on the way to play basketball then listened to the bottom of the seventh and the top of the eighth on the way home. I couldn't believe that Suppan didn't give up a hit from the first on. I was very surprised that Wainwright was able to pull himself together and stike out Floyd. Impressive. I think the Tigers will win it in 5 with Weaver getting the win in game 3 in St. Louis. If they don't pitch Weaver in Game 3, the Tigers will sweep.
ReplyDeletei hope for a long series so we can see more than one game! and being there to see them win the world series would just be amazing. i'm so selfish!
