My dad's going in for a pacemaker on Monday. I don't know yet what time the procedure is. I hope everything goes well with the installation and that my new bionic dad gets better quickly. His atrial fibrillation has been getting worse recently so I hope this helps control it and he can keep his ticker going strong. Stay away from iPod headphones though.
In Mom's email about Dad's surgery she says that next month the doctor will perform an ablation on his heart. That word seemed awfully familiar to me though I couldn't immediately define it. I checked my little Dictionary app but it didn't have an entry so I looked it up on Wikipedia. As soon as I saw that the first section was about space I realized where I had seen it recently: I was reading about ablative armor on the hulls of various space ships in Star Trek while surfing Memory Alpha, the Star Trek wiki.
Speaking of Star Trek, how did I miss the news that Ricardo Montalban died? Mr. Roarke? Khan? No!
Dad checks in at 7:30AM and has the procedure at 9:30AM. I talked to him today and he seems ok and in good spirits.
